Potsdam, Germany, April 26, 2016: Derdack, a leading provider of operations alerting and app-enabled incident management, today announced has been included in the list of “Cool Vendors” in the “Cool Vendors in Digitalization Through Industrie 4.0” by Bettina Tratz-Ryan, Christian Titze, April 14, 2016 report by Gartner, Inc
Every year, Gartner identifies “Cool Vendors” based upon vendors with a technology or service that is innovative, impactful, and/or intriguing. In this year’s report on the topic, five vendors have been recognized. The report deals with digitalization and Industrie 4.0 (I40) which addresses every industry and sector. However, the most momentum comes from the manufacturing industry. Remote assessment of production floors as well as processes connected to control systems, and shared data between machine providers and implementation, will drive cost containment, innovation and predictive models for maintenance and workflow. Innovation needs an innovation culture in organizations, meaning that critical “out of the box” thinking is nurtured, and also allowed to lead to failure. This critical philosophy is relatively new to organizations in DACH, and therefore, Gartner is looking for cool innovators that are examples of how to build business ideas or enrich an organization in a mainstream or bimodal innovative approach.
Matthes Derdack, CEO of Derdack, comments: „We consider our inclusion in the Cool Vendor report by Gartner confirmation of our mission to enable higher productivity in IT operations, manufacturing and field services through the deployment of mobile app-enabled alerting and dispatching. Fully automated alerting and anywhere incident management is a logical and easy step towards smarter operations in many industries.“.
Derdack’s solution processes and filters data and alerts from machines, sensors, existing MES, SCADA and ITSM systems and provides automated alerting and service dispatching. Thus, the right, responsible and available service engineers on the shop floor or in the field are linked to operational equipment. Alerts are distributed using multi-channel communication, tracked and escalated fully automatically. Using the mobile app, service engineers are provided meaningful information, e.g. tips for repair, and an incident-centric collaboration with experts, managers and peers is one touch away. There are even interfaces for remote control of equipment and manufacturing IT. The solution reduces control room work, enables a real-time response to critical incidents and provides greater flexibility for workers on the plant floor and in the field.
