Enterprise Alert is constantly evolving to provide our customers with new ways to implement event sources and use new features. With version 9, several new features have been implemented that make it easier for customers to create alerts for specific processes and events.
These include the new “Website Monitoring” event source.
This new event source allows you to monitor an important Internet site in a very simple way. Depending on the requirements, different parameters can be taken into account for monitoring.
In our example, a website is monitored according to the following criteria:
- Availability check (after 1 minute each time)
- An event is generated if the Internet page is already once not available
- The response time of the website must not exceed 2000 ms.
If these criteria are not met, the website monitoring will generate a new event in Enterprise Alert. Based on this generated event, which can be found in “Incoming Events”, a corresponding alert policy can now be created. If the website is available again, Website Monitoring will send an update to the existing event, so that an alert in Enterprise Alert 9 can be closed automatically.
The Enterprise Alert Website Monitoring is very easy to configure offering Enterprise Alerts without additional monitoring infrastructure to monitor the core services of your IT infrastructure. This feature shortens your response time in case of outages and can help your administrators to work even more efficiently in case of large IT incidents.
